The club's Match Day Package is proving a big hit with junior clubs around the region, as well as providing one club with an innovative way to raise some much needed funds.
Youngsters who play for Alderley Athletics Junior Football Club and are currently battling to raise funds to restore their new home, have been invited to the Moss Rose to meet the Silkmen in a bid to raise their flagging spirits.
"The Squirrels", who are looking to raise around £50,000 to rebuild their changing rooms and have some vital work done on their pitch will be at the Moss Rose to watch the Silkmen take on Chesterfield on April 4th and will get to meet the players afterwards.
The Silkmen have been inviting junior teams to the Moss Rose all season and as with the others, all the youngsters will be admitted to the match free of charge. But in a bid to help them in their fundraising efforts, the adult tickets were offered to the club at half price and the money accrued from selling them on to their parents will be injected back into the Squrrels to boost the kitty.
"Some of these children have never watched a proper football match before," said club chairman Jonathan Rowley speaking to the Wilmslow Express. "They are so excited after being so low, and it is so generous of the club to make this offer. It will be a fantastic day out for us all."
Penny Baguley, Macclesfield Town's commercial manager added: "We saw the club's plight in the paper and immediately invited them to a game. We had already been thinking about using tickets as a fundraising venture for local junior football and were pleased to be able to help them out in this way. It's something we would like to do more of in the future for other clubs and charities around the area.
"We have been inviting junior teams to the Moss Rose all season and most recently, Macc Tigers enjoyed a great afternoon at our game against Shrewsbury and got to meet the players and collect autographs after the match."
