About the Community Sports Trust

Macclesfield Town FC - Community Sports Trust (CST) is a thriving multipurpose organisation. With 6 full time staff and an overall workforce of 16, the scheme has positively grown since 2005.

The CST is fully integrated into the fabric of Macclesfield Town and has supporting partnerships with 'Football League Trust', 'ESTC' and 'Cheshire East Council'. The CST works from its own dedicated office on the London Road side of the ground.

Football League Trust - Oversee community and youth development activities at football league clubs.

Cheshire Peaks and Plains - Proud sponsors of our 'Street Soccer' programme for youngsters around the borough of Macclesfield.

ESTC - Training provider for NVQ qualifications which the CST successfully deliver to students.

Cheshire Constabulary - Help and support the CST when working locally in the community.

Cheshire East Council - Work closely with the CST to provide more opportunites for people in the community.

The scheme aim to impact on the local community positively through delivering suitable and beneficial activities which cover 4 key areas; Health, Education, Participation and Social Inclusion.

Our Work
Our aim is to provide a proven way to achieve challenging goals using football as a way to help score real success in the local community, education and social inclusion programmes. Our scheme is now well established, with a dedicated team working closer with our partners in the following priority areas;

Ø Increasing the amount of people, particularly children, playing sport
Ø Encourage people, especially children, to lead healthier lifestyles
Ø Use sport as a vehicle to re-engage children in learning
Ø Create and develop programmes to reduce youth offending
Ø Operate an inclusive approach to work
Ø Establish Macclesfield Town FC and its facilities as a community resource
Ø Deliver a range of training programmes to produce qualified sports coaches creating employment and voluntary opportunites

Who can access this service?
The CST works with all participants including children, adults, disabled population, schools, local business'.
Where is this service available?
Cheshire and upto South Manchester.

After School Clubs - A wide variety of physical activities which include; football, dance, cheerleading & multisports. These sessions are targeted at primary school children, helping to encourage a fit and healthy lifestyle, whilst also endeavouring to install team work, buddy learning and fair play amongst peers.

Curriculum Time Sessions - Sessions are linked into the national curriculum thus assisting mainstream teachers in providing educational physical activities for all children.

Holiday Camps - Running during school holidays, camps provide parents with a safe and enjoyable environment to leave children. Activities such as football & dance take place and can be booked via contacting the office or email.

Youth Offenders Sessions - Working with the Cheshire youth offending service this sporting ASDAN project allows participants to take part in practical and classroom based sessions, leading to an accredited certificate after 16 weeks.

Sports Apprenticeship - NVQ - Aimed at 16-18 year olds, this NVQ allows candidates to gain several qualifications, whilst also completing work based learning.

Saturday Morning Soccer - Fun based football activities within local estates.

Street Soccer Projects - Based within 6 estates across the Macclesfield borough. These sessions are aimed at engaging the children and helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and prevent acts of crime/vandalism, (Working in partnership with 'Cheshire Peaks and Plains').

Development Centres - These sessions allow the more talented children a chance to take part in a higher standard of structured football activities which provides a link between fun school based session to elite centre of excellence football. Development Centres are currently based in Stockport(Heaton Mersey), Macclesfield and Manchester(Newhall Green).

Respect Programmes - A Respect Programme which shows how pupil's behaviour can impact on situations and how their behaviour is perceived by others, (Sponsored by N-Power). These are currently ran in primary schools and can be booked in for 'free' is desired.

Taster Sessions - The CST offer 'free' taster sessions is schools are interested.

Birthday Parties - Macclesfield Town FC CSTprovide a birthday party service which is held at the Moss Rose football ground. Parties involve ground tours, quiz', birthday party meal, watch the match, meet and greet players, guard of honour and a half time game of football on the pitch.
