Silkmen face last match of pre-season

The Silkmen's final pre season match of the 2012 campaign takes place at the Moss Rose where the Silkmen take on FC United of Manchester.

The visitors are making their second trip to the Moss, having played New Mills here in 2005, and are preparing for another season in the Evo Stick Premer League where they have missed out on promotion via the play-offs for the last two seasons.

This will be their seventh match of a pre-season which has, to date, seen a draw at Rhyl, defeats to Chadderton, Exeter, Hyde and Abbey Hey before a 6-0 win against Bishop Aukland.

Ticket Prices: £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for kids.

There will also be a programme available for £1.00.

Pre Match Hospitality: There will be a carvery on offer ahead of the home friendly with FC United for just £9.95. Doors open at 11.30am and both home and away fans are welcome.

The History: Given FCUM's short history, this will be the first meeting between the two clubs, but there have been several links over the years. Karl Marginson, FC United's manager, played for the Silkmen in two spells in the mid 90s, making 27 appearances and scoring twice from midfield in seasons which saw the Silkmen lifting the Conference Trophy and League title. His assistant manager for several seasons was Macc legend Phil Power who made 213 appearances, scoring 82 goals during the unprecedented succeses of the 90s.

Other players to have represented both include Colin Little, Kyle Wilson and Karl Munroe.
