A round up of some National League stories

As we head into the last couple of weeks of the 2016/17 National League season, take a look at this week’s news from across the division with Macclesfield Town’s edition of Three Things Missed.

Eight Sign On For Aldershot

Aldershot Town have announced that eight players will receive contracts for next season’s squad with The Shots still having a big chance of reaching the play-off places.

The players who have signed on include Will Evans, Jake Cole, Scott Rendell and Matt McClure with many more set to sign one-year deals over the coming weeks.

Aldershot Town chairman, Shahid Azeem said, “I’m sure the supporters will also be very happy to see their favourite players staying at the club, with excitement building for next season, whichever division we play in.”

Tranmere Join Futsal League

Tranmere Rovers have announced that they will have a side competing in the FA Futsal Super League starting from September 2017.

They will be joined by York City, Oxford City and Cambridge United who have entered professional teams along with several clubs from Birmingham, Manchester, Loughborough, Salisbury, Reading and London.

Rovers finished 4th in their respective league this season, missing out on second place by a single point.

Stevenson Returns To Dover

Dover Athletic have recalled midfielder, Jim Stevenson, following his loan spell with bottom side, Southport.

Stevenson joined the already relegated side in February where he managed to play ten games, scoring one.

He will now be eligible to face Torquay United on Saturday which could prove whether Athletic make it in the play-off places.
