Ollie Norburn says he is ‘over the moon’ that his goal has sent the Silkmen to Wembley after a two-one aggregate win against Tranmere Rovers.
Norburn also scored in the first leg at the Moss Rose and nearly scored two goals at Prenton Park with as he hit the bar minutes before he scored.
John Askey’s men will face York City in the final after they beat Lincoln City and Norburn insists that despite being a good day out they’re there to win.
Speaking to Silkmen Player HD, he said: “We’re over the moon, it’ll be a good day out for the fans and everyone associated with the club but for us we’re going their win.
“I was disappointed, I thought I should have done better but I plugged away and thankfully I managed to get the goal.”
The midfielder also admitted that he missed his goal after injuring his ankle in the process which he revealed is nothing to worry about.
“I went over on my ankle, so to be honest I didn’t see it go in! I was on the floor in pain but I was buzzing that it did go in and that its sent us to Wembley so hopefully we’ll come back with the trophy.”
The Silkmen will face York on the 21st May.
