Macclesfield assistant boss Steve Watson says he is hoping to see a win at the home of champions elect Lincoln to end a run of two successive defeats.
The home loss to Solihull last weekend spelled the end of Macclesfield’s hopes for a play-off spot to add to the FA Trophy final already in the schedule for May, but Watson expects the Silkmen to bounce back and use the coming match as a warm up for the big occasion.
Speaking after the defeat to Solihull, he said: “It’ll be a great occasion for them, but it’ll be a good experience for our lads too. It’ll be a good warm up for playing at Wembley in front of a big crowd.
“I’ve got no issues with our away form but I can’t get to the bottom to our home form. There’s not a lot in it but we need to start putting our chances away because if we don’t do that against teams fighting for things, they’ve always got a chance.”
