Macclesfield Town are pleased to announce that Gary Lewis has been nominated for a ‘2016/17 Groundsman of the Year’ award.
The Moss Rose pitch has been recongised along with other National League/National League North/South pitches and Gary says it is a terrific honour to be nominated.
The Silkmen face competition from Forest Green, Aldershot, FC United and AFC Fylde for the award.
Gary says his nomination is as a result of a real team effort at the Moss Rose.
He told mtfc.co.uk: “It’s great for me but it is great for the all the volunteers and the Football Club really.
“It is nice that people think of you. We are only on a small budget but we do our best. So it is really nice to put in the bracket of the sides that we are up against for the award.”
The result will revealed in late July at an event at St Georges Park in Burton and you can see an interview with Gary below.
