The Silkmen picked up their second draw of the campaign as they finished 2-2 with Morecambe.
The Silkmen started the first half brightly and came close to scoring the opener from a corner which Hamza Bencherif stooped to meet with his head but the ball flew just over the bar.
Tippy had a shot blocked when he looked odds-on to score after a free kick, but the Silkmen only had to wait 10 minutes before taking the lead.
And it was Tipton who put the ball in the back of the net from the spot. Colin Daniel's pace had seen him outstrip his marker and advance on the 'keeper. Rounding the 'keeper he was taken out by the Shrimps' stopper. There were no complaints from the Morecambe defence who were possibly counting their blessings that he hadn't seen a red card.
The Silkmen were well on top at this point and won a brace of corners, the second seeing Brisley half volleying just wide from just insie the area a minute later.
The home side's first danger came with almost 20 minutes on the clock as a corner was headed back across goal and met the head of a Morecambe attacker, but he headed over from close range.
The Silkmen should have extended their lead with one of two great strikes after 23 minutes. First Ross Draper seized on a loose ball and powered a 30 yard strike which was heading for the top corner before Roche parried it out for a corner. The kick was taken and eventually cleared, but only as far as Colin Daniel who hit his own long range strike which forced another excellent save from Roche.
Another corner then fell to Paul Bolland who added his 25 yard shot to the list of close-calls, firing it just wide of the post.
At this point the home side seemed to wake up to the game and a 25 yard free-kick led to an easy save for Jon Brain with five minutes of the half to play. A minute later a ball into the box found Craney, but his low shot was saved.
With half time approaching, the home side had a long spell of pressure, but it ended with the Silkmen surviving the storm.
The second half saw the home side looking to earn the draw and they came close after kick-off when a corner when Bentley headed home but his effort was disallowed for a foul.
But they didn't have long to wait as Michael Twiss cut in from the right to curl a great shot past Jonny Brain to make it 1-1.
Nine minutes later the Silkmen were back in the lead. Hamza's cross was headed back across goal by Ben Wright to Ross Draper who bundled it home for his first League goal..
The Silkmen almost hit third when Tipton's curling shot was parried back to Ben Wright, but he saw his first-time shot go over the bar,.
Jon Brain was on form to hold a long shot before a good run from Twiss culminated with a shot flying wide.
With 10 minutes remaining the home side levelled. A free kick was deflected out for a corner, and from the flag kick, the ball was played over and Artell met the ball with his head to score at the far post.
But the Silkmen were cursing their luck at the death as a cross from Tremarcio after good work from substitute Lee Bell was headed back across goal by Hamza Bencherif for Wright to head home but the linesman had spotted an infringement and the goal wouldn't stand.
