With Sven and Kasper watching on from the stands, the Silkmen crashed to a 4-0 defeat at home to Notts County.
Notts began the game on top but it was the Silkmen who had the first opportunity. A quick free kick saw Tipton racing through but his shot at full stretch was saved.
Jon Brain was on hand to gather a volley from Ben Davies as the strong wind caused the Silkmen problems.
But the visitors took the lead after 13 minutes. Although County were given the freedom of the penalty area as the Silkmen failed to close the forwards down, it looked as though Lee Hughes was offside as he received the ball to play it back to Ricky Ravenhill. With no flag forthcoming, Ravenhill hit the ball and thanks to a massive deflection, found the back of the net.
The goal rocked the Silkmen and the visitors almost scored again soon after as a header from a corner was cleared off the line with Brain beaten. The Silkmen 'keeper was then on hand to easily gather an ambitious 35 yard free-kick.
Tipton, looking sharp in his first start showed a glimpse that he's still got 'it' with a neat run and back-heel to Carl Tremarco, but the left-backs low cross was hacked clear under pressure from Ben Wright.
Wright was again unfortunate shortly afterwards and he jumped to flick-on a left wing cross, but the referee failed to spot the clear two-handed push in the back, and the ball was cleared.
Ross Draper had a good chance to score from outside the area, but saw his shot blocked which led to a quick Notts break which led to a cross from the left towards Lee Hughes, but he headed over the bar with the goal at his mercy.
The game became scrappy for the last ten minutes of the half with the sides trading tough tackles and as it looked like the Silkmen were going to turn around a goal down, the visitors scored a second as a right wing corner was headed powerfully home by Hunt.
The second half saw Jon Brain back in form with a fantastic one-handed save, but he could do nothing to stop the third goal. Just five minutes into the half a free-kick was played in and Ben Wright won the ball in the air but put it past the 'keeper and into his own goal.
Izak Reid was looking dangerous down the right and made a great run to break into the box, but fired his shot straight at the 'keeper.
The Silkmen's best chance of the game followed as good work from Rooney sent Tipton into the box, with the ref playing on from a handball, Tipton skewed his shot inches wide of the post.
Jon Brain made another good diving save before the Silkmen should have scored again as Tipton found Reid, but his low cross evaded everyone and Colin Daniel shot wide from the edge of the area.
Westcarr finished the game with the fourth goal after a one-touch passing move that saw him racing clear of the defence and sliding the ball into the bottom left corner of Brain's goal.
There was still time for Izak Reid to make two more runs down the right which saw crosses, but no one to meet them before the referee blew for full time.
